Here to serve our town and our community
Experienced & Engaged
“This is my third year as a Selectman, where I love serving on committees, task forces, and in other capacities beyond the regular Tuesday Board meetings. I was elected by the Board to the role of Vice Chairman. I was awarded a Commonwealth Heroine Award in 2023 by our State Representatives and the Legislature. I’m also still an Elected Town Meeting Member, which I enjoy tremendously. I serve on the Steering Committee of the Norwood League of Women Voters and am a voting delegate at their National Convention. Serving keeps me busy, but devoting time to the Norwood community is worth every moment!”
Knowledgeable & Tenacious
“I have a passion for creative problem solving, and a thirst for learning and sharing information. I am always keeping my knowledge up to date and then sharing what I’ve learned with others. I’ve attended the Massachusetts Municipal Association, or even driven my electric car hundreds of miles to the International City/County Management Association conference, so residents could see what it was like to take a long trip using an EV. I am constantly looking for ways to make things better. I have a particular passion around the use of technology for the public good. I’m very excited to continue the work of keeping our Municipal Light & Broadband competitive and inventing new ways to bring fantastic service to our residents.
Invested in Norwood
“I’ve lived in town since 2007 as a renter, and became a homeowner in 2018! I use the Norwood Light for not just internet, but also for my electric car, home heating, and more! I figure why give my fuel and heating money to some nameless oil corporation, when I can give to my town instead?”
Collaborative
“I’m still a proud independent voter who is not - nor have I ever been - enrolled with any political party in our Commonwealth. This makes me a great fit for the Board of Selectmen, where working together is key to keeping things running. I continue to cultivate a good rapport with our State and Federal representatives, and am eager to grow our relationship with our County representatives next!”
Protecting Norwood
“As a member of the Executive Branch of our government, keeping Norwood safe is a high priority to me. I have been proud to serve on the Norwood Anti-Scam Task Force, where I collaborate with other local and County officials on new methods to stop the spread of scams. I’m the Board’s representative to Impact Norwood, helping to improve youth wellness and to reduce youth substance abuse. I was proud to help select our new Fire Chief and to further grow a healthy dynamic between the Board and our First Responders during a difficult time with the loss of our Hospital. I continue to push for more ways for the Town to stay resilient against Climate Disasters and to improve our Sustainability, such as supporting the return of the Farmer’s Market or even pitching in at the Food Forest when I can.”
What’s with the blue hair?
“I like to show civic pride! I match my hair with red and white during important occasions like the 4th of July, US Election days, or just any time when it’s time to be patriotic. I use white when I want to show my pride for our Massachusetts flag. And I add yellow when I want to celebrate our town colors. I’m ready to celebrate our town, state, and nation at any time!”
Is Amanda Up For Re-Election this spring?
That’s right!
It’s time, and I’m happy to serve the Town of Norwood again if residents will have me! Learn about why I should continue as Selectman …

Helping you stay informed & involved
Dedicated to transparency.
“Our Commonwealth is rare in the union for having the Right of Free Petition for all our citizens, and the ability to directly create bills, laws, and amendments by gathering signatures right from the people! That means anyone can participate in our State and local governments … but sometimes it’s hard. Busy schedules, family obligations, or just not knowing where to go to get information. I want to help you.
I’m currently exploring ways to expand and improve access for residents to the information they need, and to get requests routed to the right place more quickly. If you vote for me on April 7th, I’ll put these ideas into action!
